The Hoover Tempo Widepath is a very good cleaning machine. It has great suction and handles easily for an upright. My only complaint is that is is noisy but most vacuums are, aren't they?
I purchased this vacuum after reading that Consumer Reports named it a best buy, beating out many of its high priced competitors. It did not disappoint. This vacuum has suction like nobody's business. I don't think of it as being that loud...well no louder than the average vacuum and not really bothersome. The ight light that comes on was a little startling at first but I quickly got used to it. The suction tools have so much power it snagged my bedskirt when I wasn't paying attention. Believe me with all the ridiculous prices out there for vacuum cleaners, you can't go wrong with this one.
I've had many vacuums over the years, most recently a heavy thing with various bells and whistles, but I was not pleased with the weight and the attachments. I wanted a simple machine, more lightweight if possible, with the cord in the right place (not at the bottom which makes it easy to run over) and attachments that are simple but stay hooked together and don't flop around. This vacuum is all that, and in addition, has a terrific price tag. I've had it for about a month now, and so far, no complaints!
I have this for a couple of months and is working fine so far. I didn't like the bagless one I had before and I am so glad that I switched back to a bagged one this time. Hope it will last for a while.
On a tight budget and found this at a very reasonable price on-line (under $60). Checked my Consumer Reports book and found this to be one of their "best buys". Works very well. For those who gave up bottled water but want better taste than tap, Brita filtered water is a good option. In most places the 3-packs are way overpriced and the 10-packs are hard to find. Costco carries them but otherwise I have only found them online. As each one should be replaced in 2 months, this is nearly 2 years worth of filters. If you have a friend who also uses Brita, get the 10-pack and split the cost. (The box contains 2 boxes of 5 filters each, so there isn't even any fooling around with opening packaging). Gives each person 1 year's worth of filters at a decent per-filter price. p.s. My only beef with Brita (Clorox-owned now)is that the filters are not recyclable. Supposedly the filters the company sells in Europe have been modified to be recyclable. They should do that here too.
we live in Phoenix AZ where the water is hard tastes bad. we use the large 'counter top' water cooler and these Brita filters take all of the minerals bad taste out of the water. if only we could get the restaurants to use these filters, it would be great!
After using the ita pitcher,I found out that I didn't have to live with bad tasting water anymore. The Brita did just what it said. Thanks Amazon for the best buy on the filters!!
Own a Brita? Do these fit yours? Then this is what it comes down to. Economy. Three here are cheaper than one. I mark the box flap with the date I replace each filter, and two months later, I replace the old with the new. Three will get you six months. As you close in on month six, buy a new box. Complicated? Not at all. If this three-pack is cheaper than at the megamart, buy them. Otherwise, get these here. I fully recommend the Brita Pitcher Replacement Filters. powerful steam, gets to the right temperature quickly -- makes ironing a less tedious chore!!!
After working with a sub-par iron for my whole life, I decided to upgrade and look for a higher end model. The Black Decker Digital Advantage was highly recommended from Amazon users so I purchased one. It's much heavier than I expected, but it does iron extraordinarily well. It heats up quickly (and lowers quickly). Unfortunately, even on the first try, the iron did start leaking a little bit... It does have a useful beep when the iron is ready for different settings and it's easy to fill. The heat is a little intense so it does dry out my hands (I've never had that happen before). Overall, this is the best iron for it's price range and features.
I found this to be a great product overall however, I rated it as a four star for ergonomics. The button I use the most is the steam surge button. As a right-handed person it would be perfect if this button were located on the left side of the handle so that I could easily access it with the thumb of my right hand. Unfortunately the spray mist button is on the left - the steam surge is on the right which is a little cumbersome. I would have liked to see the designers simply reverse the position of these buttons. Other than that I highly recommend this product.
I hate to iron but this iron is light enough and has lots of steam so it make the job faster and easier. It does a good job.

PUR CRF950Z 2 Stage Replacement Water Filter I have used this water filtration system for over three years now, and though my retailer no longer carries the produce line, I have found that I can get the same product through Amazon and at a most reasonable price. One of my concerns with getting involved with a product line is that it becomes something that I get attached to and then it gets discontinued. Thanks Amazon for your continuing to maintain good product lines.
Have used pur cartridges for several years and continue to depend and rely on them.
I have had a Pur water cooler for about three years now, back when the filters were flat on top with the little gauge that showed you when to change the filter. I love Pur water products but it you have anything besides the pitcher, I would not buy these online. Proctor Gamble changed the design to the one currently pictured (with the very high domed top) and they DO NOT fit the coolers. I am pretty sure they are okay with pitchers though. Over a year later, the redesigned filters are FINALLY making their way to the stores, but given my recent experience buying filters online (through another retailer) there are now three different styles floating (the flat topped filter, the one pictured, and the and new one) around in stores' inventories, and I think they all have the same item numbers. The new design is still domed, but much shorter, plus there are three very distinct holes on the top, which you can clearly see on the packaging. Also, I was told by Pur customer service that the filter must have a lot number, stamped on the bottom, starting in the 8000s. So, if you are trying to purchase these filters for your cooler, go to a store: you cannot rely on pictures and item numbers, at least in my experience. Also, many reviewers seem to be upset because there is no longer a "gauge" to tell you when to change the filter. I never go by this- use common sense and change the filters when the water starts to taste bad.
work ok, old models have indicator to show remaining life. they should cost less due to their lack of complexity
I bought these after much research for replacement stage 2 filters for my pitcher. These replacements work fine. The only issue I have with them is that the original filters I bought with my pitcher had a gauge on them that told me when I needed to change the filter. These replacements do not have a gauge.

We finally upgraded from our 10 year old Dustbuster.... Why did we wait so long? This works great and isn't much bigger than the original. Much better power and the battery lasts much longer.
It sucks as advertised. On higher speed setting it sucks even more. Even my wife said the vacuum i bought sucked more than anyone we've owned. The battery assures the device sucks for at least 12 minutes. If you're looking for a vacuum that sucks a whole lot, this is it.
Can't beat the price on this unit. And it does work as advertised - good suction, nice design (don't touch dirt on clean out). I get a kick watching our 4 and 6 year olds clean up up their own under-table mess becasue of the novelty of this gizmo. Some here have said bad battery life. My plan is to replace it every two years for $35 if that's the case. More than enough charge per use for our kitchen needs. It is a loud little sucker. Be forewarned. And I find the wall mount a little difficult to use - maybe because I have it hanging back above washer/dryer - but doesn't latch naturally to me. Just a nit. I think you'll enjoy it. Would recommend it to family/friends.
This is, by far, the best hand-held vac I've ever owned. If you are considering, get one with at least 14.4 volts of power. It really does make a big difference. I've owned the wimpy ones with less power and they don't compare. Definitely worth a few extra dollars.

For those who keep their floors fairly clean, a steam mop works pretty well. Not so good for messier jobs or large areas. In either case extra pads are a necessity. This unit is light, quick, and easy to use. It heats up very fast and stays hot. You can mop about 15 minutes before refiling. (Use distilled water to save on filters.) Steam mops takes a little getting used to because you have to push and pull. It may seem a little hard for some. I have two major complaints. First, the unit has a tiny slot to make it stand up. It does not lock into place, is top heavy and very easy to knock over. After 3 or 4 times, the collar that the mop head attaches to oke. This means the mop head falls off if you pick the unit up. Bissell would not honor the warranty because I admitted that it oke due to falling over. The collar (actually only a half collar) is a bad design and so is the tiny slot to make the mop stand up. But they don't consider this a manufacturer's defect??? The good news is, super glue fixed the problem. Now I'm just more careful when leaving it standing. The best thing I suppose is that you don't use any chemicals, just plain water, and it does clean pretty well. Also, the floor drys almost instantly because there is so little water used. It's just steam. Last advice, be careful changing pads--it is HOT. And be careful on wood--it is HOT.
My sister in law has one, said it was perfect for our needs, and let me borrow it. She has extra pads, so as they got dirty, you just change them. When done, you wash them in the washing machine, and they are ready to go again (you can use them wet). It cleaned the floors amazingly, did fine on our wood floors, vynil floors, and tile floors. I will be buying one today hopefully (or this week or next depending).
I really like the ease of using this product. It heats up quickly and moves around easily. Even though the floor does not dry immediately, it does a great job. It would be nice if the cord was longer but that would not keep me from recommending this product to others.
This is a great steamer. I tried the shark and lysol steamers before getting this one. This is an overwhelming winner. It has the trigger that the other 2 were lacking. I like to use a lot of steam and this lets me. I also love that it heats up in around 30 seconds and you can refill at any time. Those are some of the great features. Make sure you get enough pads. I have to switch them out a few times while cleaning because I use so much steam, but I have 4 pads so its not a problem.
I would very much recommend this product, no chemicals, limited effort, very easy to use, with an excellent result at a reasonable cost. The steam mop does exactly what it says...cleans only with hot water. It is not made for wood or Pergo flooring and says that in the instructions, "don't use on wood or any flooring that is not sealed". It was made to use on linoleum (which I have), tile, or any of that type of sealed finish flooring, so those who have been unhappy with the result on their wood type floor should have read the instructions. I mop often and having had back problems over the years, which mopping seems to aggravate, I decided that this would be just the thing...and what a pleasure it turned out to be! My floor not only looks great, but feels great on bare feet. No hard labor and no back ache! I bought this after wasting my money on two other handhelds that didn't cut the mustard. I have cats--and the reason I bought this handheld was to clean my carpet covered stairs without having to struggle with the attachments on an upright. I chose Eureka because I'd gone through three bad vacuum cleaners before I got their superior upright--and it's amazing. This hand-held has a motor operated ush and powerful suction! It's easy to disassemble and clean out, and it vacuums as if it were a small upright, picking up everything! Very powerful suction and the ushes never stop turning because of clogs or anything. Recommend this highly!
This vacuum is great! I can't believe I didn't order it sooner! I have two cats who leave hair, litter and food bits all over the place! It's great for those quick clean ups when I don't feel like dragging out the big vacuum cleaner. It works well on the stairs too. It's lightweight very easy to carry and very compact. I highly recommend this vacuum! I love it!
This is a great hand vacuum. It's a little heavy and unwieldy for a hand vac, but the suction is very good as is the construction and design. As others have mentioned, the hose is a little short. So I went looking for an extension hose and found the perfect fit in the Electrolux Automotive Vacuum Kit KIT01N. This kit comes with a 5 foot extension hose, plus one crevice tool, one wide nozzle, and an adapter. But you don't even need the adapter. The hose fits perfectly on the Eureka as is. Now with the hose attached, I can set the vacuum on the floor while cleaning areas of my home that are eye level or even higher. The Electrolux kit really adds to the functionality of this little Eureka. The on-board crevice tool does fit the extension hose too, but you can also use one of the two attachment tools that come with the auto kit. In fact, since the Eureka's on-board hose as well as the Electrolux extension hose use standard size vacuum fittings, you can use any standard size vacuum attachment with them. I really do like this vacuum. I bought it when we lived in a 3-story townhouse with our 8 cats. It made vacuuming the multitude of stairs so much easier. I like it so much I bought one for my sister. But I really wish it had a ush attachment. When you're sitting on the stairs vacuuming you're so close to the moulding you can't ignore the hair/dust resting upon it. The crevice tool gets some of it, but not all. A ush would make this vac perfect. BTW, don't use it to vacuum sheet rock dust as my husband did BEFORE I knew what he was doing. Hopefully a new filter will help the suction. ;o

Living in the Mid-west(Wisconsin) the last few weeks has made a steam vac an essential home appliance. I've been borrowing a friend's monster Hoover Steam Vac All Terrain. It does a great job, but is extremely heavy for an old (69) guy to shlep around a large house. Though it appeared to have a few quirks, i.e., the potential for leaks and substantial amount of plastic, the positive reviews of the F5914-900 were very accurate. Following the set-up instructions was quite easy. No leaks developed, though no "snap" sound was detected when pushing the two critical buttons. Yes, it could use more water, but that might just add to the weight. I'd rather have the maneuverability and ease of pushing, and put up with the more frequent water fills. The durability is a question, but if it holds up for 2 years, $159 from Amazon makes it seem worthwhile. The cleaning capability was terrific. I washed a carpet that was soiled due to the torrential rains that finally struck our basement Berber. It turned from an awful yellowish own to a glorious off-white that I remembered before the rains came. It certainly doesn't take a back seat to the top of the line Hoover that I had borrowed.
Just received my new Hoover Carpet Steamer and thus far I am very pleased. This item took a minimal amount of effort to assemble, and the only hitch was that the step where the trigger rod snaps into place never provided the "snap" that others wrote about here. Prior to using the machine, I contacted Hoover Customer Service and to my delight was connected to a rep in under 3 minutes. The rep informed me that the "snap" does not always occur and does not necessarily mean that the system is not ready for use. Upon turning the machine on, he was indeed correct, and the system functions as advertised with no leaking whatsover. The most amazing part of this purchase was the delivery of my new carpet steamer. I odered this at Noon on Saturday June 21st, and selected free shipping. I expected to get this in the advertized 5-9 business days. Instead to my surprise, this unit arrived at 11AM on Monday June 23rd. Perhaps I should miffed that Amazon.com could have collected $72 from me for one-day shipping, but I concluded that there was little value in making that selection. So, in fact, I ended up receiving one-day shipping for free, and for that I am very greatful to Amazon.com.
I have been steam-cleaning my carpet for thirty years, long before the Rug Doctor appeared as a rental product. I found the various steam cleaner home models too lightweight to do a comparable job. Then a friend insisted on loaning me their Hoover Steamvac. The results honestly amazed me. I immediately bought one for myself and used it heavily for three years (probably the equivalent of twenty average usage years). This is my second Hoover Steamvac. I cannot praise this machine enough.
Just received mine yesterday and shampooed 2 bedrooms and a hall and stairs. Easy to assemble and handle for a woman. Removed stains that 2 "professionals" had not removed. Used 2 scoops of Oxiclean rather than carpet cleaner. It removed so much of the water that the rooms dried within 2 hours. I have very white carpet and I am UN-AFRAID of it now that I have this machine.
This machine does an excellent job, although very slow. For a real dirty carpet buy more rug shampoo before starting project. I bought this based on the average review from so many reviewers. I've used it only once, since I got it about an hour ago. I vacuumed two area rugs that I had been vacuuming for weeks with a hand vac. I couldn't believe how much cat fur and dust this vacuum picked up. It was just funny. I hope it keeps working. The rugs look so nice. Couple things. I found the carpet button has to be firmly pressed to get the beater bar stated. Also, I vacuumed the first rug, and without turning it off, I picked up the vac to move a couple feet to the second rug. The beater bar started to rattle a bit. I'll check that the next time I use it, but I imagine it pulled away from the handle a bit. I should have turned it off. If this little Hoover keeps its power, it's going to be a great appliance in my small RV. Cleanup was a lot less onerous that I feared. --pat
While I saw that this vaccum had great reviews -until I began to use mine -I could understand why. The vaccum is quieter and more powerful than my existing vaccum.It's nozzle stays on the floor and does not flip up when trying to reach under furniture. Good design with the hook to wrap your cord which also flips down to unwind the cord. It seems like someone who actually vaccums designed this product. It rates an A plus with me!!!!!!
We recently installed a hardwood floor, and vacuuming is recommended for daily cleaning. Not wanting to haul out the large vacuum, I checked Amazon, and it appeared that the Hoover S2220 would match my needs. This little powerhouse exceeds my expectations! I can zip around the room, which includes the hardwood flooring and several scatter rugs, in no time; in fact, can also do the adjacent tile floor and hallway--all in about five minutes. The power nozzle is powerful--perhaps even doing a better job on the scatter rugs than I regular canister vac. I know that some reviewers do not like to empty the cup, but I'm not finding that to be a problem. I would just recommended doing it every week or so, so that it doesn't build up. It's GREAT! No problems here--happily recommend!
The first time I used this vacuum, I used it on the stairs and accidentally rubbed the base of the vacuum against my wall, which subsequently left a red mark. I suppose this could've happened with any other vacuum. Besides this indecent, I've been absolutely happy with this product! It's light, it's powerful, it's bagless, its cord is sufficiently long, it's easy to assemble, it's good looking - it's everything I look for in a vacuum. Oh, I should also mention that the base of the vacuum swivels. I had overlooked this feature during my research, so when I took it out of the box and assembled it, I thought it was defective when the base started to swivel around. It's not a defect - it's a feature (which I've found to be quite useful)!

I've been using this for almost two months and am surprised by how much of the funny taste this takes out of our tap water. We have hard water and using this has helped greatly. I bought this pitcher at the same time as buying a Sigg water bottle to quit wasting at least two plastic bottles of water a day.
My husband and I decided to no longer drink water bottled in plastic bottles. We decided to buy our own filtered water system and fill glass decanter bottles instead. After much research on-lne and reading reviews we decided on the Pur 2 Stage Water Dispenser and we are so happy with it! The water tastes great, the container is slender enough to store inthe refrigerator for cold water or on the kitchen counter without taking up too much room. The filters (3-pack) are affordable as was the water dispenser. We feel we made the best choice!
I traded my round Brita pitcher for this new sleek design water dispenser to save space in our refrigerator. Wish I had done it a lot sooner. The pour spout is a great feature especially for our 5 year old who loves to drink water often fixes her own drinks by herself. We've dropped our Brita pitcher several times in the past, cracking the handle and spilling water everywhere, so not having to remove the container from the fridge is another great feature. We are glad we purchased this product.
I'm glad I finally made the change from buying bottled water to drinking filtered water. However, just about every time I use the spigot, it drips on the fridge shelf below...ugh

【Hope on the horizon】

Ich hasse es. Und was mache ich hier überhaupt? Wollten Sie sich schon einmal über einen Film Informationen durch das Lesen von Rezensionen einholen? Diese sind meistens von himmelhochjauchzend bis zu Tode gelangweilt. Und nun? Wie urteilen Sie? Und wie soll man dann bitteschön Musik beschreiben oder gar beurteilen, die man einfach nur durch das Fühlen hört? Ich habe es versucht, das können Sie mir glauben, doch mit jedem Wort ging der Zauber, das Schöne und Verborgene verloren. Aber da ich das neue Album "Hope on the horizon" von Martin Gustafsson alias Boy Omega sehr schätze und ich der Meinung bin, dass seinen Worten viel mehr Aufmerksamkeit gebührt, versuche ich es eben auf meine Weise. Es gibt Momente, in denen alles so unendlich traurig ist, dass ich die Tür hinter mir schließe und Niemanden, wirklich Niemanden sehen möchte. Und das Einzige, dass mich in diesen Momenten begleiten kann, sind Lieder, diese Art von traurigen Liedern, bei denen es in Ordnung ist, sich hilflos und hoffnungslos zu fühlen, die Dämme echen und mir Klarheit verschaffen. Und es sind genau diese Lieder, die mich da wieder herausholen, und ich liebe Stimmen, die unverwechselbar sind, die wenn wir sie hören, an einen alten Freund erinnern, und uns trösten. Und so ergeht es mir mit der Musik von Boy Omega. Dieses Album ist unendlich traurig und so unsagbar schön. Für alle, die noch nie etwas von Boy Omega gehört haben: Stellen Sie sich vor Arcade Fire, Bright Eyes und Elliott Smith betreten gemeinsam eine Bühne. Boy Omega macht das Unvorstellbare möglich und wächst dabei über sich hinaus. Denn anders wie in seinen Vorgängern lässt er dieses mal elektronische Spielereien beiseite und bereichert seinen Sound durch Streicher- und Bläsereinlagen. Die mit musikalischem Feingefühl ausgetüftelten Kompositionen ziehen mich in den Bann und erklingen so facettenreich, wie das Leben nur sein kann. Bei "A Quest for fire" flüstert er mir "Well you ripped me apart like an old piece of paper" ins Ohr und alles was ich tun kann, ist das Atmen nicht vergessen, doch spätestens beim unerwartetem Einsatz des grandiosen Orchesters strömt die Wärme in jeden Winkel meines Körpers. Es folgen unter anderem das beschwingte "The Blues And The Bee Sting", die melancholische Countryballade "Hard Work" mit einer Stimme, die meine Seele vi ieren lässt, das zer echlich akustische "Pocket Knife" , "Suffocation Street", bei dem ich am liebsten meine alten Gummistiefel aus dem Keller holen würde, um im Regen spazieren zu gehen, die Hymne "Looking For You In Me", "Change of plans", bei dem ein See zum Ozean wächst und das herzerweichende "Good Times" bei dem man buchstäblich spürt wie sich eine letzte Umarmung anfühlt und dann deine Hand für immer los lässt. Das letzte Lied "True Haven" weint, schreit, klagt an und verschlägt mir vor Faszination die Sprache. Es endet mit den Worten: "Now we say goodbye, but lord, i can see a new sun is rising, hold on my love, there`s hope on the horizon". Und ich glaube es ihm.

Fast ein halbes Jahr ist seit dem grandiosen Landsberg - Konzert der ungarischen Rocker vergangen. Nach mehr als 20 Jahren Deutschland-Pause meldet sich Omega wieder bei uns zur252;ck. Auf diesem neuen Best Of Album sind die sch246;nsten Songs der 3 Space-Rock-Alben "Idorabl243;/Timerobber", "Csillagok 250;tj225;n/Skyrover" und "Gammapolisz" zu h246;ren. Die Titel stammen aus einer Zeit, in der Omega und Pink Floyd um den Spitzenplatz der deutschen Album-Charts k228;mpften. Diese CD ist eine sehr gelungene Zusammenstellung aus dieser Zeit.

Fun in its self is a subset of time travel episodes, such as "Tomorrow is Yesterday", and "The City on the Edge of Forever." Or the quasi back in time episodes like "A Piece of the Action" with Spock-o. The enterprise goes back in time to do some research. There they accidentally intercept a transporter beam. The occupants are a person named Gary Seven that claims to be a contemporary human of the time on a mission to save the earth, and a cat (maybe) that just purrs a lot. After Gary escapes the clutches of the Enterprise, it is pretty clear that he is up to no good. This may be beyond the abilities of Spock and Kirk to believe or control but it is not beyond secretary Roberta Lincoln's (a young Terri Garr with her signature confused look) ability to figure out something is amiss. Will Gary fulfill his mission? Will Kirk and Spock help, hinder, or be part of the outcome? Will Roberta find out what is be hind the purr? Will anyone live happy ever after?

Ein echter Klassiker, der alleine durch die Bildsprache schon eine Gänsehaut erzeugt und dies ohne den üblichen Blutrausch. Viele aktuelle" Filme kupferten hier ab, wie zum Beispiel 28 Days Later" und Dawn of the Dead". Dieser Film erreicht eine unglaubliche Intensität. Die Eingangsszene zeigt eine von Menschen leergefegte Stadt, in der Müll und Leichen das einzig bemerkenswerte zu sein scheinen außer dem Hauptdarsteller: Charlton Heston. Als letzter Wissenschaftler durchstreift er die Stadt, um das Versteck der "Familie" zu finden, die ihn um ingen will. Diese Jagd hat Boris Segal einzigartig in Szene gesetzt.pDie Musik unterstützt die Handlung so präzise, dass es sich schon fast deswegen lohnt, diesen Film anzusehen. Bitter ist daher vor allem, dass der Inhalt gewaltige Schwächen und Ungereimtheiten aufweist. Die Familie ist ein Zusammenschluss von Kranken, die - Vampiren ähnlich - nur bei Nacht umherstreifen können, weil Ihre Augen kein Licht vertragen. Diese Krankheit ist das Ergebnis eines Bakterienkrieges zwischen Russland und China, das nur eine Handvoll Menschen überlebt haben. Die Familie macht nun die Werkzeuge der Wissenschaft für all das verantwortlich undptilgt ihre Spuren von der Erde. Dabei dürfen Sie natürlich keine Technik einsetzen, was der Auseinandersetzung eine besondere Note verleiht.pAls der einsame Kämpfer eines Tages auf ein paar "gesunde" Menschen trifft, entwickelt sich eine Liebesgeschichte zwischen ihm und der "letzten Frau".pBis zum letzten Gefecht erhält der Film ein enormes Spektrum von Spannung bis zu völliger Entspannung. Leider hat der Drehbuchautor sich fast nicht an das Original von Richard Mathesonpgehalten: Ich, der letzte Mensch, sonst wäre dieser Film mit Sicherheit ein echtes Meisterwerk. So kann man ihn allen Freunden des Science-Fiction-/Action-Genres wärmstens empfehlen, wenn man beim Anschauen die vielen Merkwürdigkeiten der Handlung "vergisst".

Ich habe mir das Spiel gekauft, weil die Beschreibung - insbesondere über die Handlung an historischen Stätten - sehr verlockend war. Diese sind auch grafisch sehr schön wiedergegeben. Damit ist aus meiner Sicht aber auch schon alles Gute über das Spiel gesagt.pAus meiner Sicht ist die Grafik an vielen Stellen deutlich zu dunkeln, die Steuerung unsicher, die Musik entnervend und es fehlt jede Interaktionsfähigkeit mit anderen Personen. Das ganze Spiel ist - bis auf endlose Monologe der Profs. und dämliche Kommentare des Fahrers - stumm. Die Rätsel sind entweder total einfach oder extrem schwer, und dies vor allem, weil ihnen in diesen Fällen jede Logik fehlt. Es macht aus schlicht keinen Spaß, in totaler Finsternis Totenköpfe und Glocken zu suchen, die man nur dann sehen kann, wenn die Maus genau drüber fährt.pDazu fehlt dem Spiel jede Geschichte. Es bleibt völlig unklar, warum man an die Orte reisen soll und wozu man eigentlich den ganzen Unfug betreibt.pAußerdem war das Spiel bei mir extrem absturzgefährdet. Seit etwa 2/3 des Spiels stürtz der PC ständig ab, auch speichern funktioniert nur noch ab und zu und das Inventar hat sich verselbständigt. Da hilft auch kein Patch, Neuinstallation oder sonst was. Der Grund bleibt ungeklärt und schließlich fehlte mir angesichts der flachen Story und der düsteren Grafik auch jeder Drang, es bis zum bitteren Ende zu versuchen. Also Ab uch und frustrierter Blick auf das ausgegebene Geld. Fazit: Finger weg, es sei denn, man ist absoluter PC-Freak und liebt die Dunkelheit!
Eines zunächst vorweg: Wem es möglich ist, der sollte sich an der englischen Originalversion versuchen und vorher den ersten Teil von Riddle of the Sphinx gespielt haben, der ebenfalls hervorragend, wenn auch in der Grafik und Steuerung ein wenig antiquiert scheint. Das ist im zweiten Teil alles verbessert worden, doch zunächst zur Story: Nachdem am Ende des ersten Teils die verlorene Bundeslade in einer Geheimkammer unter der Sphinx gefunden wurde, macht sich Archäologe Gil Geoffreys daran, herauszufinden, warum die Artefakte sechs verschiedener Könige als Schlüssel verwendet wurden. Das heißt, er beauftragt den Spieler dazu, indem er ihm Zugangskarten zu fünf verschiedenen mystischen Stätten der Erde gibt: Die Sphinx, Das Bermuda-Dreieck, Chichen Itza, Rapa Nui (Osterinsel) und Stonehenge. Aufgabe ist es nun, das Verbindungsglied zwischen diesen Orten zu finden, indem man sie ausgiebig erforscht. Was schon den ersten Teil besonders auszeichnete, wird hier wieder fantastisch umgesetzt: Extreme Detailgetreue bei den Nachforschungen und der Rekonstruktion der Orte und Ausgrabungsstätten und ein schöner Übergang zwischen Realität und Fiktion. Die Episoden nehmen dabei unterschiedlich viel Zeit in Anspruch; Stonehnge ist dabei die längste und künstlerisch ausgereifteste, wenn man einem Geheimbund auf den Spuren ist... Die Grafik ist sehr schön, man bewegt sich von Ort zu Ort in frei schwenkbaren 3D-Umgebungen - man hat 360°-Sicht. Die Orte sind passend mit Geräuschen und ein wenig Musik unterlegt. Personen wird man nur wenig treffen, dafür aber umso mehr Geschichte: Es gibt viele Tagebücher, Berichte und Notizen zu lesen; die meisten davon sind nicht umbedingt notwendig, liefern aber schöne Plots am Rande und es macht Spaß, sich beim Schmuddelwetter in Stonehenge in den Wohnwagen zu verkriechen und ein Buch über Außerirdische zu lesen... Fehlerfrei ist dieses Spiel nicht. Die Sound- und Grafikqualität ist um Längen besser als beim Vorgänger, aber dennoch ist ein großes Labyrinth in Chichen Itza recht unübersichtlich und teils zu dunkel entworfen. Die Rätsel sind unterschiedlich schwer; teils erfordern sie extrem gut trainierte Gehirnwindungen. Leider ist nicht immer ersichtlich, wann man irgendwo einen Gegenstand benutzen muss. Hinzu kommt, dass im Inventar eine Menge Gegenstände landen werden, von denen man einige allerdings gar nicht aucht. Für ein späteres Rätsel benötigt man zum Beispiel sechs bestimmte Schädel, findet aber 17 verschiedene. Diese Fehler sind allerdings Kleinigkeiten. Die Story, die sich wirklich nahtlos an den Vorgänger anschließt, weiß zu überraschen, und obwohl das Schlussvideo ein wenig kurz und a upt ist, bietet das Ehepaar Jeff Karen Tobler (die den ersten Teil fast im Alleingang entwickelten) wieder hervorragende Unterhaltung!
"The Omega Stone"kann wohl als Nachfolger des bekannten Adventures "Das Geheimnis der Sphinx" bezeichnet werden. Inhaltlich ist dieses Spiel dem Vorgänger sehr änlich. Es überrascht durch 3 D Effekte und führt den Spieler an historische Ort wie Stonehenge, die Osterinseln, das Maya-Heiligtum Chichen Itza oder die vergessene Stadt Atlantis. Die authentische Wettereffekte, kombiniert mit einer 360-Grad-Panorama-Kameraperspektive lassen alle Mäuler offenstehen. Gut ist wohl, daß das Abenteuer bei einer Spieldauer von 50 Stunden in der auch viele Videosequenzen auftauchen keine Enttäuschung oder Langeweile aufkommen läßt.pEs ist für jeden Adventuregamefreak was dabei!pAlso dann bleibt nichts weiter zu sagen als:pGame on........

Sorry, für alle Charlton Heston - Fans, aber....das war nix. Ziehmlich angestaubt und öde. Selten habe ich mich so gelangweilt , wie bei dieser "Iam Legend" - Verfilmung. Die Will SMith Verfilmung ist um länge besser, als dieser Murks.
Bei diesem Film bietet sich vor allem der Vergleich mit der Neuverfilmung mit Will Smith an: 'I am Legend' ist um Klassen aufregender - nicht nur, was die Tricktechnik betrifft. Die Verfilmung von 2007 ist deutlich spannender, beklemmender, erstaunlicher. Dafür bietet das Original ein Wiedersehen mit dem kürzlich verstorbenen Charlton Heston. Er ist in der Rolle als Wissenschafter Neville gut besetzt und glaubwürdig - aber das ist Will Smith auch. Na gut, es geht hier um den Omega Mann. Als Schauplatz hat man damals Los Angeles gewählt, nicht New York wie in der Neuverfilmung. Für das Publikum von damals müssen die Szenen äußerst eindrucksvoll und beängstigend gewesen sein. Vor allem die Szenen am Anfang wirken sehr realistisch, als Heston durch die menschenleere Stadt fährt. Auch die 'Untoten' sind recht gut gelungen, wenn man von ihren Kostümen absieht. Wäre spannend, wie die Leute damals reagiert hätten, wäre Ihnen Anfang der 70er-Jahre die Neuverfilmung präsentiert worden. Wahrscheinlich hätten Sie das Ganze für die Realität gehalten ... Mitte der 60er-Jahre ist der Roman ü igens erstmals verfilmt worden, mit Vincent Price in der Hauptrolle: 'Last Man on Earth'. Und 2007 hat man die Grundidee nochmals verfilmt, zu einem B-Movie mit Marc Dacascos in der Hauptrolle unter dem Titel 'I am Omega'. Wenn Sie also Charlton Heston nochmals sehen wollen zwischen 'Ben Hur' und 'Jahr 2022 ...', wenn Sie nostalgische Gefühle bekommen beim Gedanken an die 70er-Jahre, oder wenn Ihnen Will Smith als Fehlbesetzung vorgekommen ist, dann ist dieser Film wahrscheinlich perfekt. Auch die Extras sind ganz nett: zwei der Darsteller hat man interviewt, außerdem die Drehbuchautorin, es gibt ein paar entfallene Szenen und die Doku 'The Last Man Alive'. Alles in allem ein Film der zwar inzwischen natürlich Altersflecken hat, aber durchaus sehenswert ist, wenn man die Neuverfilmung gesehen hat oder das Buch von Richard Matheson gelesen hat.
Bei "I am Legend" haben mich die übernatürlich schnellen und für meinen Geschmack zu kletterfreudigen Untoten etwas enttäuscht, die mutierten Kollegen hier mit ihren Kapuzenumhängen sind aber im Vergleich der absolute Totalausfall. Billiger geht es nicht. Wer es aber ein wenig "low budget" mag und wen die Idee des Films begeistert, kann ich eine Empfehlung aussprechen. Alle anderen sollten die Finger davon lassen.
Diesen Film habe ich als Jugendliche in den frühen 80ern - schon damals im Rahmen von SF-Wiederholungen - im Fernsehen gesehen. Nie habe ich diese Story vergessen können. Ich habe bestimmt 3 Jahre lang nur mit Licht unter Angstgefühlen in den Keller gehen können... so real wirkte die Fiktion. Ähnlich ging es mir seither nur bei "The 6th sense" nochmal unter die Haut.
Ich hätte nicht gedacht das der Film eine noch so gute Wirkung hat! Die leeren Straßen und nur Charlton Heston fährt mit dem Auto durch die Gegend und bedient sich in Einkaufsläden, war schon ein toller Anblick! Als Gegner bekommt Heston die sogenannten Mathias Brüder an den Hals, das sind Lichtscheue Menschen bei den der Virus ausge ochen ist. Heston ist der einzigste der immun gegen den Virus ist! Aber er trifft auch noch auf Menschen, bei denen der Virus noch nicht ausge ochen ist! Die Action Szenen fand ich immer noch gut gemacht. Der Film hat mich bis zum Ende gefesselt. Auf jeden Fall ein sehr guter Charlton Heston Film! Die DVD hat eine recht gute Bildqualität zu bieten! Vielleicht mal ausleihen, wer ihn noch gar nicht kenn?!?!!!In den 70er-Jahren, zwischen "Agent Orange", atomarer Bedrohung und dem Watergate-Skandal, spiegelte sich auch im Science-Fiction-Film die bedrückende Stimmung. Plötzlich erinnerte ein Großteil der denkbaren Zukunftsszenarien an die Apokalypse. IDer Omega MannI markierte den Höhepunkt dieser Entwicklung. p Charlton Heston spielt einen amerikanischen Wissenschaftler im Schatten der ultimativen bakteriologischen Katastrophe, die nach einem Krieg zwischen Sowjets und Chinesen den Großteil der Menschheit dahingerafft hat. Die Überlebenden unterteilen sich in zwei Gruppen: eine kleiner werdende Schar immuner Menschen und ein infizierter, psychopathischer Mob, der in seiner Lichtempfindlichkeit an Vampire erinnert. Die Infizierten werden von dem durchtriebenen, charismatischen Mathias angeführt, der seine Berufung in der Ausrottung der für die Entstehung der tödlichen Seuche verantwortlichen Zivilisation findet. p Heston befindet sich zwar im Besitz eines Gegenmittels, er und die wenigen verbliebenen Gesunden sind jedoch den Infizierten hoffnungslos unterlegen. Tagsüber arbeitet er mit seinen Getreuen an einer provisorischen Ordnung (mit Rosalind Cash als Hestons vor Waffen strotzenden Angetrauten). Während sie unbehindert durch menschenleere Stadtlandschaften kreuzen und die wenigen Vergnügungen genießen, die das Leben noch zu bieten hat, gelten ihre Gedanken einer besseren Zukunft. Nachts müssen sie sich der stetig wachsenden Menge Infizierter erwehren. p Sowohl apokalyptisches Mahnmal als auch bittersüße Romanze, zeichnet IDer Omega MannI ein überzeugendes Psychogramm voller Hoffnung und Verzweiflung. ja ich weiss der film hat so gut wie nichts gekostet. aber wenn man schon i am legend verwurstelt, dann bitte richtig. ich sage nur: oh die hauptfigur ist ganz alleine auf der welt, gäähn. ja und zwar genau 15minuten lang und dann herrscht reges treiben der menschen. film ist eher ähnlich einem zombiefilm. normalerweise mag ich ja den hauptdarsteller, aber hier geht er mir gehörig auf die nerven. der film ätzt und schleppt sich nur voran. die vorwärtsspulentaste wird nur mit äusserster willenskraft nicht bedient. hier habe ich wirklich 80minuten meines lebens verschenkt. es gibt aber 2punkte für den versuch und weil ich endzeitfilme liebe.
Ich muss sagen, das "I AM OMEGA" meiner Ansicht nach sicherlich kein Meilenstein ist, aber definitiv auch kein Rohrkrepierer: man bekommt so in etwa das, was man erwarten sollte, wenn man "Mark Dacascos gegen Zombies" hört. Mit Richard Mathesons ausgezeichneter Romanvorlage hat "I AM OMEGA" wenig zu tun - obwohl die Ausgangsposition identisch ist entwickelt sich der Film in eine völlig andere Richtung... genau so wie die Will Smith Verfilmung der Story, wie man anmerken könnte. Hauptsächlich wird in dieser Version Martial Arts Action (allerdings nichts, was es in anderen Filmen, auch mit Mark Dacascos, nicht besser zu sehen gibt) und ein bischen Zombie Stimmung geliefert. Was dem Film ganz klar hierbei fehlt sind die Massenszenen, meistens stolpern 1 oder 2 Zombies im Bild herum, was nicht wirklich gruselig, bei einer Low Budget Produktion allerdings normal ist. Mark Dacascos reist en Film in meinen Augen ganz klar heraus - er gibt den Überlebenden (mitunter etwas überzogen) glaubwürdig und verleiht der Rolle genug Charakter, um den Film durchaus sehenswert zu machen. Insgesamt finde ich "I AM OMEGA" ganz in Ordnung, vielleicht kein Meisterwerk aber sicherlich eine für ihr Budget beachtliche Leistung - da wurden schon für wesentlich mehr Geld wesentlich schlechtere Filme gedreht!
Gut nachgemacht ist besser als schlecht erfunden. Die streitbare Gültigkeit dieser Maxime außer Acht lassen, sollte man sie für die wunderbare Welt des B- und C-Films überhaupt erst einmal umdichten: Billig nachgemacht ist besser als teuer erfunden. Besser ist es dabei vor allem für die Produzenten der schamlosen Kopien großer Erfolgsfilme, denn mit kleinem Produktionsvolumen und irreführenden, weil dem Vorbild ähnlichen Titeln nähert man sich dem naiven Videothekenzuschauer und läßt ihn sich "vergreifen". Die neue Nummer 1 dieser in den letzten Jahren leider etwas vernachlässigsten hohen Kunst des Ideenklaus heißt Asylum. Diese Produktionsfirma bedient mit Kleinstbudgets den DVD-Markt und erfreut durch Dreistigkeit: Statt TRANSFORMERS gibt's die TRANSMORPHERS, statt ALIEN VS PREDATOR halt ALIEN VS HUNTER und statt WAR OF THE WORLDS... äh, WAR OF THE WORLDS. Das erinnert in den mittelschweren Fällen an Roger Corman, in den schlimmeren an Troma, und im besten Fall wähnt man sich wieder im Italien der 80er; also dem Mekka der Rip-Off Meisterschaft. Letzteres ist glücklicherweise der Fall bei I AM OMEGA, der ruckzuck zum Start des Will Smith-Blockbusters I AM LEGEND auf die Piste geschickt wurde. Mark Dacascos, einst vielversprechendster Knüppel aus dem Sack im internationalen Haudraufgeschäft, wurde als mehr oder minder zugkräftiger Name für die Hauptrolle gewonnen. Dacascos hat sich letzthin als wild überagierender "Chairman" der amerikanischen Kochshow IRON CHEF ein bißchen zum Horst gemacht und kaspert auch hier als vermeintlich letzter Mensch auf Erden ganz in der trying too hard to be serious-Tradition des jungen Bruce Campbell. Als Anker für ein äußerst dünnes Handlungskonstrukt macht er sich dennoch recht ordentlich. Das "kreative Team" hinter I AM OMEGA setzt beim Zuschauer keck die Kenntnis des Will Smith-Films, der Romanvorlage oder eben der alten Verfilmung mit Charlton Heston voraus. Zu keiner Sekunde wird erklärt, warum Dacascos offenbar allein auf unserem Planeten wandelt. Das kleine Budget verbietet die urbane Festung seines großen Vorbilds - der Held von I AM OMEGA verschanzt sich in einem kleinen Haus im Nirgendwo. Dort wird er wieder und wieder, egal ob Tag oder Nacht, von verseuchten Ex-Menschen angegriffen. Längst abgegessen von diesem tristen Dasein, befördert er die fiesen Monster recht beiläufig ins Jenseits. Dabei wird hier und da ganz zünftig Herz und Hirn im Sand verteilt. Was I AM OMEGA aber tatsächlich in Teilen interessanter macht als der letztlich recht stromlinienförmige Will Smith-Knaller, ist die fast vollends gestörte Persönlichkeit der Dacascos-Figur. Verbittert vom Verlust seiner Frau und dank der Einsamkeit am Rand des Irrsinns, hat er nur noch das Töten, am Besten im ganz großen Stil, im Sinn. Die Halluzinationen, die ihn quälen, verleihen dem Film zu durchaus eindringlichen Szenen. Insbesondere die Konsequenz der Figurenzeichnung erstaunt: Weder reagiert er auf den Hilferuf einer Frau, noch will er sich auf ein Gespräch mit plötzlich auftauchenden Besuchern seiner Farm einlassen. Dacascos will gar keinen Kontakt mehr mit anderen Menschen haben. So vermittelt sich der Eindruck, daß Regisseur Griff Furst ungeachtet der streng monetären Motivation seiner Produzenten den Willen hatte, einen guten Film abzuliefern. Zwar ist I AM OMEGA in Teilen so mies geschnitten wie ein Amateurvideo - man meint manchmal noch die Regieanweisung zu hören, wenn sich Dacascos in die Rolle begibt - und unfaßbar miserable, bei Tag gedrehte Nachtaufnahmen erinnern an Italograupen wie PROVINZ OHNE GESETZ. Daß man die Lichtstimmung so sehr versemmelt, bis man im Nachhinein ein fahrendes Auto mit einem Kreisausschnitt aufhellen muß, habe ich noch nie gesehen. Die Action stimmt aber größtenteils, und wenn Dacascos sich in die Stadt aufmacht, kommt selbst in den budgetbedingt sehr eng gefaßten Bildern ein Gefühl der Bedrohung und Einsamkeit auf. Nicht jeder Trash muß Müll sein, und ich nehme den guten Willen für die Tat.
Ich muss schon sagen, das der Film an sich ein wirklich geiles Remake von Asylum ist. Die Handlung ist ziemlich cool und die Zombie-Einlagen sind total spannend!!!!!!!!!!! Obdem finde ich die Kameraführung wirklich genial, der Schnitt zusammen mit der Musik ist auch hervorragend gemacht. Insgesamt ist der Film mit wenig Kampfszenen und Action absolut Spannend gedreht, was heutzutage auch eine Kunst für sich ist. Doch gelten die 5 Sterne Marc DACASCOS , der als fast einziger Schauspieler im Film, absolut überzeugend den letzten Menschen auf erden darstellt. Marc hat mit seiner Schauspielerischen Leistung einen spannenden, fülligen und überhaupt nicht langweiligen Film gemacht. Deshalb von mir 5 Sterne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nachdem Charlton Heston 1970 als scheinbar einziger Mensch einen biologischen Krieg überlebt hat und gegen eine Armee kranker, paranoider Nachtwesen antreten musste und auch Will Smith sich in I am Legend an derselben Geschichte versucht hat, gibt es mit Mark Dacascos nun bereits die dritte Variante dieses Stoffes. Während Regisseur Boris Segal 1970 sein Endzeitdrama noch in einer Art Duell zwischen gesundem und krankem menschlichen Geist inszenierte, I am Legend noch mit spektakulären und aufwändigen Effekten aufwarten konnte, fragt man sich als Zuschauer bei DIESER Verfilmung, wozu war sie eigentlich nötig? Mark Dacascos war ein in den 90er Jahren oft gebuchter und auch gerne gesehener Darsteller in Kampf- und Fantasyfilmen (unvergessen sein Auftritt in Crying Freeman), worin er auch meist zu überzeugen wusste. Allerdings scheint das Feuer der Inspiration erloschen und seine Darstellung des Ranchard, des vermeintlich letzten ü ig gebliebenen Menschen inmitten eines Heeres von Mutanten ist mehr als kläglich. Aber der Film krankt an noch viel mehr Unzulänglichkeiten: --- einem miserablen Bild mit ausgeblichenen Farben --- einem grottenschlechten Make up; die Mutanten sind so lächerlich in ihrer Stereotypie, das man beinahe laut loslachen möchte. Zudem verhalten sie sich so bescheuert, wie man es aus dem ersten Dawn of the Dead von vor 30 Jahren kannte --- die Special FX sind ebenso schlecht; z.B. die Explosionsserie am Schluß wirkte so absolut unecht --- die Qualität der Dialoge (vor allem dieser knebelbärtige Typ gab teilweise so einen Blödsinn von sich, das einem schlecht wurde!) reiht sich nahtlos in die anderen Peinlichkeiten ein Das Geld, das für diesen Schinken ver aten wurde, hätte man besser den Flutopfern in Myanmar oder den Überlebenden der Erdbebenkatastrophe in China gespendet, wäre sinnvoller gewesen!I AM OMEGA

Da haben wir nun eine DVD-Edition eines seltenen und ungewöhlichen Westerns vor uns, die auf den ersten Blick wirklich ordentlich was hermacht. Ein solide restauriertes Bild, zwei unterschiedliche deutsche Tonspuren, reichlich informatives Bonusmaterial sowie eine stilvolle Holzbox als Verpackung. Und französischer Originalton sowie deutsche Untertitel sind auch noch dabei. Aber genau bei diesen untertiteln liegt der Hase im Pfeffer. Denn anstatt die französischen Dialoge zu übersetzen, hat man sich bei der Erstellung der Untertitel an der englischen Synchronfassung orientiert. Diese unterscheidet sich jedoch grundlegend von der Originalfassung, wurden hier doch nicht nur zahlreiche Dialoge hinzugefügt, wo im Original Schweigen herrscht, sondern obendrein auch noch die kompletten Dialoge völlig umgeschrieben, um sie möglichst lippensynchron zu gestalten. Will man sich nun den Film im französischen Original mit Untertiteln anschauen, sind die Untertitel vollkommen nutzlos. Ich weiß die Arbeit von Buio Omega durchaus zu schätzen und zahle auch gern den relativ hohen Verkaufspreis für ihre in der Regel wirklich kompetent und mit viel Liebe zum Medium gestalteten Veröffentlichungen, aber ein solcher Faux Pas darf einfach nicht passieren. Mir jedenfalls hat er die Freude über die DVD ziemlich verhagelt.
Die "Hände Weg"_Edition, die der Buio Omega Club bei Anolis führt, sorgt seit einigen Jahren für nahezu vorbildliche Editionen meist sträflich vergessener, wenn auch etwas abseitiger Filmkunstmeisterwerke. Damit sind sie sozusagen das deutsche Gegenstück zu Criterion, auch wenn das Ganze weniger akademisch daherkommt. Den meisten wird vor allem der hohe Preis missfallen, doch die Qualität der Filme und der Editionen rechtfertigt das ohne Zweifel (Wer billig sucht, hat Ramsch schließlich auch verdient). Diesmal hat man sich also einen Western vorgenommen, den Robert Hossein inszeniert hat. die Hauptrollen spielen Hossein selbst und Michele Mercier, die man beide als Gespann natürlich aus den herrlich trashigen Angelique-Schinken kennt. Michele Mercier ist hier die schwarze Witwe, die den Mord an ihrem Mann rächt, wobei ihr Hossein als Todesengel dient. Beide verbindet - natürlich - eine fatale Leidenschaft, die sich nur im Tode erfüllen kann. Einige Szenen sind so gnadenlos nihilistisch, dass man sich an Corbuccis "Grande Silencio" erinnert fühlt. Im Gegensatz zu der in Deutschland bekannteren Fassung des Films wurde hier versucht, die Verstümmelungen rückgängig zu machen, die der Film durch den Verleih erfahren hat. Dabei hat man ihm auch die ursprüngliche Musik wiedergegeben, die immerhin Scott Walker als Sänger des wunderbaren Leitmotivs beiten kann. Daneben gibt es reichlich Extras und Ostereier, unter anderem ein Interview mit dem nicht wirklich symphatischen Hossein und ein gefilmter Versuch, Michele Mercier zu interviewen. Dass die Bildqualität nicht wirklich Criterion-Niveau hat, verschmerzt man da gerne, auch wenn es natürlich schön gewesen wäre.....
Im Gegensatz zu dem Aufdruck auf dem Cover und dem DVD-Menü sind neben den beiden deutschen Tonspuren auch die englische und italienische Synchronisation sowie der Originalton auf der DVD! Die Tonspuren lassen sich aber nur über die "Audio" Taste der Fernbedienung anwählen. Außerdem gibt es insgesamt 17(!) versteckte Features auf der DVD, wovon der Hauptteil Trailer von Filmen mit den beiden Hauptdarstellern darstellen.
Während in den 60er Jahren serienweise Western in italienischer und spanischer Produktion herunter gekurbelt wurden und Winnetou noch auf der Suche nach Spurenelementen von Karl May im Drehbuch durch Jugoslawien ritt, hielten die Franzosen sich vornehm zurück. Wenn sie sich jedoch einmal aufrafften, einen Western zu produzieren, kam etwas ganz Besonderes dabei heraus wie "Le Grand Silence" mit Jean-Louis Trintignant oder eben "Friedhof ohne Kreuze", in dem Angélique-Darstellerin Michèle Mercier sich mit einem schwarz behandschuhten Revolvermann, den Resgisseur Robert Hossein selbst darstellte, verbündet, um Rache zu bekommen. Die wunderschön fotografierte Tragödie zählt für mich zu den 10 besten europäischen Western der Filmgeschichte, und dementsprechend viel Mühe hat man sich mit dieser DVD gegeben, von Kennern für Kenner, offensichtlich. Einziger Wermutstropfen: der Originalton fehlt, hingegen wird vom deutschen Ton sowohl die Kinofassung als auch eine neu restaurierte Version geboten. Die DVD kommt in einer laminierten Holzbox (!) mit schönem Booklet und über einer Stunde Extras, u.a. Gespräch mit Regisseur/Hauptdarsteller Hossein.

Ich kann dazu nur sagen, dass ich das Buch ständig in den Händen halte... Man lernt viel über sich und für sich lernen. Meine Lebensqualität hat sich seit dem wirklich verbessert.
Nach dem Hype vor einigen Jahren wollte ich auch einmal wissen, worum es denn in diesem Buch bzw. der CD so geht....der wirklich einzige Inhalt:"Denk positiv und "everything will come" - (o-tone Mohr)-- doch das ist nichts Neues, gibts schon in -zig Büchern.....daneben ist das Buch gespickt mit irgendwelchen Anekdoten, Seminarbeschreibungen der Autorin, die wirklich niemanden interessieren. Die CD dauert etwas über 70 Minuten, die kann man locker anhören, während man mit dem Hund Gassi geht (so habs ich gemacht)...ihre Stimme mag ich nicht wirklich, es klingt so, als ginge wirklich alles locker vom Hocker. Ich hab das mit den Parkplätzen ausprobiert, klappt meistens, doch wenn es nicht klappt, dann soll man sich denken, es wäre wohl für was gut gewesen, und es käme dafür was Besseres.....dazu auch ich aber nicht das Buch zu lesen!!! Auf der zweiten CD sind Meditationsübungen droben, die zum Thema passen und wie man am besten bestellt... Egal: positiv Denken, selbst erfüllende Prophezeiungen etc....das ist alles nicht neu. Man kann sich das Buch also sparen..............
Wieder eines dieser Bücher für unbefriedigte, unzufriedene Hausfrauen, die endlich positiv Denken und Wünschen sollen, damit sie nach ihren Alpträumen im Schlaraffenkaufland aufwachen dürfen? HABEN WILL! - Ist die Grundaussage dieses "Abschreibelebenshilfelehrganges". Wieder muß ich wie bei - Rhonda Byrne (The Secret) erwähnen, daß das Leben nicht (nur) aus Konsum bestehen sollte. Mancher Einfaltspinsel/in mag nach der Lektüre dieser "Universumsfantasy" noch unzufriedener werden, weil "Er/Sie" als Affluenzagepeinigter(Konsumdrogensüchtiger) , dann wenn aus diesen heftigen ...liebes - "Universumwunschstoßgebeten" - bitte schenke mir einen Privathubschrauber, um zum Einkaufszentrum ohne Parkplatzprobleme zu jetten...nichts als Seifenblasen geworden sind??? Ich sehe ja auch das Glas lieber halbvoll, als halbleer...aber diese banale abgeschriebene Theorie, als Seelenfutter für arme - reiche (Ritter/Fräuleins) zu verhökern, ist mehr als grausam! - Spätestens dann...wenn verunsicherte Universumsbesteller mit ihren Reklamationen, sämtliche Einkaufspassagen blockieren. Hurra! Da zitiere ich lieber Jim Morrison von den Doors: "Wir sind eingemauert, supergemarktet, ab-gesondert, klima-be-anlagt worden, unabänderlich geleitet von Materialismus, Konsumismus und Kapitalismus; wir haben unsere Herzen nicht mehr schlagen hören, haben unseren geschrumpften, verhungernden Geist nur noch schemenhaft wahrgenommen." Oder wie wäre es mit einem Zitat von B.Traven über die "Liebe" als positiven Weg? - "Für die Liebe allein ist es, daß Menschen geboren werden...und nur der Liebe wegen ist es, daß sie leben. Was auch immer man an Würden, Ehren, Verdiensten, Ruhm Reichtum erworben haben mag, verglichen mit der Liebe zählt es nichts." Emma Goldmann ist mir lieber als Bärbel Mohr! Ich zitiere : "Die Liebe ist eine Verächterin aller Gesetze, aller Vorschriften (...) Wenn die Welt jemals Gleichheit Einigkeit hervor ingen wird, wird es nicht mehr die Ehe, sondern nur noch Liebe geben! Wer wünscht sich vom Universum Liebe? Die meisten denken bei Universumswunschlisten wie (Bärbel Mohr - der Guru der Wunschlistenschreiber/innen), doch im Wesentlichen nur an Dinge? Ich bestelle hiermit beim Universum eine Dose - Liebe. Ich habe dieses Buch geschenk bekommen. Geschenk bekommen zu einer Zeit, wo ich nicht mehr weiter wußte. Das Buch hat meinen Leben verändert. Ich weiss, dass ich mir alles wünschen kann, was ich auche um glücklich zu sein. Ja,ja, es klappte nicht immer alles, aber ich arbeite daran. Lässt sich ü igens super gut lesen: ist frech und witzig geschrieben, eben der Styl von Bärbel Mohr. Danke Bärbel.

Die Templer bleiben ein Mysterium und sind einfach nicht aus der Verschwörungsliteratur wegzukriegen. Warum auch ? Es ist schön, spannende Romane zu lesen und dieses Thema ist einfach zu verführerisch und verklärt. Und auch hier erleben wir Leser einen spannenden Templerkrimi, der uns von Dänemark in das vermeintliche Kernland der Templer nach Südfrankreich führt. Der ehemalige US-Geheimagent Cotton Malone wird als Antiquar in ein Geflecht um das vermeintliche 'Vermächtnis der Templer' hineingezogen. Dunkle Gestalten, die sich als Templer entpuppen, verfolgen Malone und seine Ex-Chefin auf der Jagd nach Hinweisen zur Lösung der Rätsel um den vermeintlichen Schatz. Immer wieder tauchen Personen auf, die Malone und Co helfend beschützend, während sich in der abseits liegenden Abtei in den Pyrenäen der Kreis der Templer dunkle Intrigen gesponnen werden. Dieses Buch schlägt einen spannenden großen Bogen ... für mich ein Tick zu groß und an Länge zu weit. Mir persönlich sind ein paar Wendungen und Personen zu viel, aber das ist sicherlich ein persönliche Geschmacksache. Fazit für mich: Durch die 'Überlänge' für mich knapp an fünf Sternen vorbeigeschrammt.
Der Schriftsteller versteht es geschickt, die Themen plausibel darzustellen und in einer spannenden Geschichte einzubauen. Ich habe das Buch in den Urlaub mitgenommen und in nahezu 2,5 Tagen fertig gelesen. Ich fand es sehr spannend und kann es nur jedem empfehlen.
Der nach Dänemark ausgewanderte Ex-Agent Cotton Malone, will seiner ehemaligen Chefin Stephanie helfen die gerade private Nachforschungen wegen der Arbeit ihres verstorbenen Mannes in Kopenhagen anstellt. Dabei stellt sich schnell heraus dass Stephanies Mann einem gefährlichen Geheimnis auf der Spur war, hinter dem auch noch andere her sind. Die Hinweise führen die Beiden nach Rennes-le-Chateau in Frankreich, wo sie dann erneut auf ihre zu allem entschlossenen Gegner treffen, die sich als Angehörige des tot geglaubten Templer-Ordens herausstellen. Das Buch ist gut lesbar, jedoch kommt nicht wirklich Spannung auf. Es mischen hier einfach zu viele Protagonisten mit, die dann teilweise auch noch Namentlich verwechselt werden (Malone/Mark), was mich sehr genervt hat. Malone hat sich für einen Profi-Agenten auch recht amateurhaft verhalten.
Aufgrund der bisherigen Bewertungen (7 Bewertungen mit dem Höchstwert) ließ ich mich anregen, diese Buch zu lesen. Leider hat mich dieser Roman aber sehr enttäuscht. Dem Autor gelingt es aus meiner Sicht nicht, hier eine wirklich gute Geschichte zu erzählen, zu linear sind die Handlungsströme, zu eindimensional die Charaktere, zu vorhersehbar die Wendungen. Inhaltlich ist das Werk erstaunlich dürftig und sehr limitiert in seiner sprachlichen Gestaltung, was allerdings auch an der deutschen Übersetzung liegen kann - ich kenne das englische Original nicht. Manche Dialoge und Schilderungen sind einfach nur hölzern, überflüssig und lächerlich - es erweckt den Eindruck, dass solche Romane einen gewissen Seitenumfang erreichen müssen. Die behandelten Themen, Templer, Katharer, etc. sind schon vielfach so oder in ähnlicher Form in Romanen verarbeitet worden und es bedarf keiner großen Anstrengung aus Widersprüchlichkeiten in der Bibel entsprechende Theorien zu konstruieren. Wirklich fesselnd ist das nicht. Es fällt an manchen Stellen auf, dass der Autor sich hier wohl nur ein sehr rudimentäres Wissen über die Geschichte und Personen der damaligen Zeit angeeignet hat, um die entsprechende Kulisse zu setzen - schade, da wäre deutlich mehr möglich gewesen (z.B.U. Eco - Das Foucaultsche Pendel). So plätschert die Geschichte also dahin, angereichert mit gelegentlichen historischen Ausführungen und läßt mich als Leser eigentlich ziemlich kalt. Aus meiner Sicht recht anspruchslose Instant-Literatur: Ein Buch, dass man schnell lesen und ebenso schnell wieder vergessen kann.
Ich habe Steve Berry erst vor kurzem für mich entdeckt und bin begeistert ! Mittlerweile habe ich drei Bücher von ihm gelesen und freue mich auf das nächste das im Juni oder Juli erscheint. Wirklich tolle Unterhaltung !

Buddhismus , schon vor Jahrtausenden. Im Ganzen ist dieses Buch etwas zu oberflächlich, sehr esoterisch und bietet wenig Erklärungen. 【Günstiger und guter Receiver mit Komponentenanschluss (YUV】

Ich bin auf den Rapido 3 gestoßen, weil ich einen günstigen DVB-S Receiver mit Komponenten-Ausgang (YUV) gesucht habe. Damit wirkt das Bild auf den meisten TFT-, LCD- oder Plasma-Bildschirmen (576i) deutlich besser als über herkömmliche RGB-Scart-Kabel. Der Receiver bietet eine übersichtliche Software und sehr schnelle Umschaltzeiten verglichen mit anderen Sat-Receivern (Skymaster DX15, DX23, Humax CR-FOX+, Philips DIS2221,...). Das Bildformat wird im Gegensatz zu meinen beiden Skymastern-Receivern jedesmal korrekt angepaßt (4:3, 16:9, + jeweils Letter Box und 4:3 Pan Scan). Als Anschlüsse gibt es: - 2x Scart (RGB - 1x Composite - 1x optischer Ausgang - 1x Component (YUV - LNB-in/out - Modulator Das Gerät kann per Netzschalter ausgeschaltet werden und wird während des Betriebs höchstens lauwarm, im Standby ver aucht das Gerät 1,7 Watt. Die Fernbedienung liegt gut in der Hand, alle Tasten lassen sich gut bedienen und das alphanumerische Display an der Gehäuse-Front leuchtet dunkelblau mit der entsprechenden Nennung des TV-Senders. Der Rapido III unterstützt RAPS, das automatische Aktualisieren der Programme beim Einschalten des Gerätes (neue Programme werden automatisch gefunden und angezeigt). Bis jetzt (4 Wochen Betrieb) kein einziger Absturz, die Menünavigation, EPG und Senderauswahl bereiten keinerlei Probleme. My little 7lb pomeranian loves her bed. She sleeps all curled up in it every night. She likes it more than my bed! Very good price. Very nice quality.
This item is a bit smaller than it appears to be. I have a Pug and he can barely curl up in it, but he LOVES it. The bed is durable and easy to keep clean.
My Siamese cats love faux sheepskin. I pulled out the cushion to expose the sheepskin bottom. It's a little too snug for them, and the sides aren't firm enough to provide that feeling of security. Who knows with cats. Nice item though.
I liked the product but the small size was definately for dogs under 10 pounds. My 12 pound terrier was too 'squished' in this bed, so we had to return it for the next larger size.
I thought this bed would make a great back up for my yorkie while the designer bed was being laundered, and I was right. He loves his little beds.

The suede bed is also functional with the inner pillow being removable. He'll take the pillow out sometimes or he'll leave it in when he's ready to slumber.

Most important for me, the beds are not eye-soars. They blend well with the decor and clean up in the washer and dryer.

Received this phone recently and had a choice between this or my Nokia N73. I ultimately chose this for various reasons even though it's lacking in some departments and the Nokia N73 strips it of features.

Great design. The blue is a brushed metal which I liked a lot. The cellphone itself is extremely thin and remarkably light (the deciding factor), don't let the photo fools you (if it even does). The top of the phone has a full standard headphone jack and a USB port beside the power button. It's so light that you won't feel it in your pocket and it's prone to be dropped. Beware.

Bluntly, it's made for music and not much else. The sound through earphones is great and the speakers (which are 3 little holes in the back) is mediocre for a mini phone such as this, but I don't think it the phone was made to project music outwards. The 3 buttons on the side of the screen are in the same nice brushed blue metal and used to control the music. It's really handy to have, and responsive.

I did not try the internet. I only use my phone for calls, music, and text messages. It's more than sufficient.

I like the screen, it's a good size and very bright, and the phone's battery lasts a long time (though I barely use it to call, I just use it for music). I put in a 512 MB microSD card and loaded the music into the folder (simple drag and drop) and it's a lighter replacement to my iPod. The Nokia PC Suite software was not compatible with my phone for some reason, but I use the phone as USB storage (like you would a flash drive) and drag and drop, problem solved. Doesn't bother me much.

The camera is 2MP and it's nice for a small phone, good quality, good lighting. You can also take video just fine. Resolution for pics is 1600 x 1200 max, which is more than sufficient for me since I have a CANON digital camera and don't use my phone for that.

Finally, the pre-loaded games are fun. There's an addictive game called City Blox and I can't stop playing. It also comes with a dictionary, world clock, etc. Standard stuff.

Few criticisms:
- The message inbox: you can't jump easily from received messages to sent messages. I liked that feature on my N73.
- Also, call log: you can't jump from received calls, missed calls, and outgoing calls. They're all clumped together in a list with little icons that denote one or the other.
- No button to start the camera, my N73, you could just slide the cover and start taking pictures.
- No button to star

BEFORE YOU BUY - keep in mind that this a CD-R release (as are all Instant Live releases as far as I know). A bit expensive for a non-Factory Pressed release. All of the concerts in the series sound good, but require a certain amount of equilization (usually too much bass).
I was at the Nokia on 11/11/05 - the concert was great - of course there was a 2 hour delay betwen doors and the show -BUT when it got started it was fantastic. Most of the songs sounded like they did on studio albums, but slower (I factor in age/drug use) the Cd for sale here must be a compilation from another show- because much to the chagrin of the 1100 or so folks who went to this show we were sent off into the night SANS BELLA LUGOSI'S DEAD - yes, you read that right, Bauhaus did not do Bella - so enjoy the cd - but it wasnt from that night.

great product for emergencies, can even use a cell phone with it, bright light, very little cranking needed for effect.
I have had this flashlight for about 2 months, it works like a magic, I was really amazed at the brightness of this flashlight when I first got it, and it can last pretty long too. The only reason I don't give it a five star is it's little bit too bulky, but I guess if you want to make it work right, you have to put lots of stuff inside.

It seems like just last week the LSU Tigers were stomping the Oklahoma Sooners in 2004 Sugar Bowl/BCS Nat'l Championship.

Fresh off a 35-7 whippin' at the hands of Kansas State in their conference championship, the Oklahoma Sooners crawled into the championship much to the chagrin of the USC fans. We all know it should have been USC that was to be crushed by the Tigers (maybe this year, in January of 2008) but whether it was to be OU or USC, the Tigers came, saw and conquered. It was one of the finest defensive performances in LSU history. I'll never forget it.
Watch the Fightin' Tigers from LSU put an old fashioned country a** whuppin' on a team that never deserved to be playing for the National Championship in the first place! Watch the nation's best defense send those Okies crying back to Norman! A glorious victory! Only one regret: It should have been USC on the receiving end of the beating. Those posers (whom I must admit got screwed by the BCS), playing in the lamest conference in big time college ball, should never be allowed to boast of winning a share of the nat'l championship.
The stage was set on January 4, 2004, as the top-rated scoring offense of the Oklahoma Sooners collided with the top-rated defense of the LSU Tigers in the New Orleans Superdome for the 2004 Nokia Sugar Bowl and the BCS National Championship. This is an absolutely wonderful device. I also own a iphone and a pocket pc so I'll present a comparison.

IPAQ:
I bought a pocket pc (HP Ipaq 110) a few months back thinking that it would serve as a handheld computing device for me. Let me assure you - it didn't. Windows pocket pcs just dont have it in them. In the Ipaq 110, there were no zoom buttons for quick full screen access. Nokia n810 puts the resolution on ipaq 110 to a shame. The screen resolution on ipaq 110 was so poor that if you wanted to see a webpage, you could only see maybe 1/16th of the width at one time. Text was not clear unless it was really huge (by Nokia N810 standards). Microsoft just hasn't designed an innovative enough product. Who ever came up with the idea of trying to fit a webpage somehow on a low resolution screen, by totally scrapping all structure, has obviously never tried to use it themselves.

Iphone:
While the resolution on iphone was good, who really wants to keep rubbing their fingers on the screen all the time? The browsing was very barebone. It was only marginally better than the pocketpc. Half the websites wouldn't open or would be completely unbrowsable. And what's the point of browsing if you can't save a thing to your computer. You can't save any pdf's - nothing. Everything was restricted. There were no hardware buttons - all you did was rub your fingers across the screen.

Nokia N810:
The browsing on this device is beyond description. After my experiences with iphone and ipaq, I was beginning to thing that there is no such thing as proper browsing on a handheld device. Nokia N810 proved me wrong. The resolution of the screen is so high (and beautifully fine) that you can actually browse very comfortably. You see entire websites on one screen and it doesn't feel that you are compromising anything.

The Mozilla based browser works wonderfully. On N810, there is no difference how a webpage would behave on a laptop vs on this device. You actually see what you see on a laptop. This is not a scrapped down browser like the other two devices I mentioned - You can actually do important tasks without taking an hour trying to some how get around form or functional barriers.

128 megs of ram is great. For comparison, IPAQ 110 had 64 megs of ram. In Nokia N810, there is also an option to use a swap file on the internal disk.

The filesystem and file manager feel very robust. There is the device file system, and the internal card (2 GB), and your own micro SD card (if you inserted one).

Installing Applications:
Installing applications is very easy - just go to [...] (on your device itself) and click install buttons for what ever you want to install. There are some nice games out there. You have to try numpty physics.

Skype:
Skype works great. You just download and install it and you have a fully functional WiFi phone right away.

PDF and Document Reading:
This device excells in all forms of text reading. The screen is so great, it actually makes text look so beautiful. There is a fully functional PDF reader that comes pre-installed. Also, make sure you install 'evince'. I cannot praise evince enough. It is one of the many free applications you can download and install from [...]. It lets you view pdfs, and also Djvu (and others besides that). There is a ebook reader too (FBReader). I tried opening a Djvu file on my pocketpc, and while it would open, it was totally useless - first because of the low resolution, and secondly because the software was so crappy. However, with evince on Nokia N810, I can so easily (and fully functional, no compromises) read some of the Djvu books that I have (some of them many megs large with hundreds of pages).

The hardware buttons on this device work perfect. The quick zoom lets you maximise applications to full screen and then there are zoom in/out buttons, lock button, power button etc. (Microsoft should learn something from this instead of producing crappy OS for portable devices after 6+ years of development).

Updates: Updates to the OS and software are frequent. There is a good community developing software for this device. Everything is built for open standards and more connectivity and capabilities (instead of designing applications to make them more restrictive).

Connection to PC: There are multiple connectivity options to a PC. You don't need any drivers or anything. Just hook it to a pc and it becomes an external harddrive. You see, both the internal card and the external card as removable drives. You can of course, copy stuff directly to the microSD card using SD adapters and readers etc. (many microSD cards come with adapters, and many new laptops have SD readers inbuilt).

This linux device actually feels like a computer in hand, instead of feeling like a gimmic. The browsing is so functional, you can use it full time as an ultra portable computer. Performance is very decent.

For enthusiasts out there, there are things like xterm (comes pre-installed), rdesktop (you can login onto and remotely use your windows desktops), openSSH and a bunch of nice utilities available.

Summary:
I was beginning to think that handheld devices are mostly toys - they cannot be used for any serious browsing, reading etc. Nokia N810 proved me wrong. The screen is so beautiful and high-resolution, you see entire webpages on it. And the browser is not a nerfed version - it is a fully functional mozilla browser - just like on a laptop.

Document viewing ability is excellent. Google maps, google documents, gmail etc. - all work great. You can actually login to your secure websites (credit card payments, shopping) and not feel that suddenly a website might not work on your handheld.

I highly recommend this product.

It is everything it claims to be: lightweight, easily accessible with wireless and/or BlueTooth. It is also easy to use.
Everyone else has put some great info about the device and I just want to reiterate that the web browser is fantastic. But, I urge you to consider two things before you buy this. The device comes with a paltry amount of memory for the price, so you will have to buy a SDHC card. Also the GPS takes a long time to acquire a Sat lock, plus should you want to use it for GPS navigation, you will have to pay for Wayfinder Navigator(sub par when compared to TomTom or CoPilot) at over $100 PER YEAR.

So recap, $400 for the N810, $100 for a SanDisk 6 or 8GB card, $100 per year for Navigation Software (easily $800 over 3 years) I am returning mine for Acer EEPC or maybe I will just wait for the iPhone 2.
I needed a device that would allow me to show off some of the content our software products create, and after hearing all the rave reviews of the N810, I puled the trigger and purchased this device.

What a disappointment. While the form factor for the hardware is nice, as well as the fit and finish, the software itself is clumsy and cumbersome to use.

On initial setup, the device hung when trying to pair with my cellphone, but as designed, there is no way to tell that the device had stopped responding. After over an hour, and finally a couple of reboots later, I was able to move past this stage to finish the setup. After a couple more hours of working to pair the device with my cellphone (and several Google searches later) I gave up. I am still unable to pair my N810 with my AT&T 8525.

Now on to the browser- What a POS. Maybe I'm spoiled from using my iPhone, but I thought the browser on the N810 was pathetic. Not having the ability to resize the screen so that I can make the text larger in the pertinent area of the website is a bad thing for a device this small.

GPS- Slow to pick up the satellites, and not very responsive. It's feels more like a hacked add on than the quality of a device like my Garmin Zumo.

If it weren't for the hardware form factor and for the fact that this device carries a full version of Flashplayer 9, I would have given this a 1 star.

The Internet Tablet is definitely a spectacular handheld. The screen resolution is excellent, the keyboard is spacious, and the device comes with some great apps like Skype, Rhapsody, and GPS. There are also a bunch of third-party apps for media playback and PIM. It satisfies every reason I bought it for.

That said, there are a few disappointments. The interface feels slow and clunky compared to that of the iPhone. Although there are some good programs available for the device, the third-party development (and that from Nokia for that matter) seems not as extensive as that of some other devices (iPhone). The camera is of pretty poor quality and video chats are only supported tablet-to-tablet or through some wacky app for Windows.

I had read complaints regarding the GPS's ability to get a signal. I was pleasantly surprised to see none of the issue; the GPS connects in a reasonable amount of time (about 45 seconds-1 minute). It depends on geographical location, but most importantly, how many satellites are in view. As long as it sits still, it connects fairly easily.

I am satisfied with the device, despite some of its flaws. I would say it is not a good product for a novice user, as I made many modifications to the software before I was happy using it. It is a little expensive, considering the cost of the device, the shareware GPS upgrade, accessories, and memory sticks. But if a technologically-competent individual is looking for a good mobile internet and media device, I would certainly recommend it.

the price for this product was awesome! $10 for a 2 GB memory card... i know people who have pd more than triple that amount. its great! good brand too.
Wow, what a difference a memory card from Kingston makes. When I first bought my digital camera, I was only able to take a small amount of pictures before the built-in memory was full. Now I can take more than 20,000 or more (yes, 20000) and store them on the camera. I changed my camera setting to one that is the best for me personally and was still about to take as many as 6,000+ photos which was great at Disney World.
Everything went well with this card (remember only sdhc card readers are compatible with it, not any sd slot will read it) untill i plugged it into a computer that slipped a trojan horse (a very mild virus) into it, and boom lost 150 pictures and the card just died, it cant be used or formated.
I know its bad for a virus to get into your card, but i didnt think i would loose the card after a month i got it...
it's nice to have the extra space, I'm shooting pictures&raw/jpg format with this 8gb card I'm able to shoot 350 pictures. If you don't want to spent a lot of money this is your best option.
Seems to work fine. Have only used it once. No idea if it will be reliable. Will wait for the price to drop before buying additional cards.

I was hoping to get a sound that was a bit better on my laptop to listen to itunes. I plugged it in the the speaker was so top heavy it kept pulling out of the usb. After proping it up I started to play my itunes and the sound didn't come through. I checked all my settings and it wouldn't work. I have since returned the item.
I will say that the "ding" from my computer was pretty clear...
I bought this unit despite some negative reviews, and.. I'm impressed! It's about 5x as loud as the internal speakers on the macbook (white). there were some audio/video sync issues with pre OSX 10.5.2 but its working great now! there was also some comments about 'preferred usb port' on the macbook - but after the OSX update both ports work perfectly.

its a small package, so don't expect the fidelity to be miraculous, but if you're traveling and watching movies in itunes, you won't have to strain to hear!

This product performed well out of the box. It's best to plug into your laptop before you turn it on. This will enable you to utilize your volume controls for your laptop. I tried plugging it in after my laptop was already turned on and this prevented me from using my volume controls. Rebooted...no problem. You get great sound from a small package.
I loved these little speakers. They're extremely easy&portable. I had been using them for about one year, up until yesterday when the USB connecter separated itself from the speakers. I guess the flexible wire was just a little too flexible and got worn out. Be careful!
These are just what I needed for my Thinkpad x60s. Now I can finally hear the movies and TV shows I download and watch with iTunes on my laptop while traveling! I recommend this item for anyone who needs a simple and inexpensive way to increase laptop sound when watching downloaded video.
